Q: How much does it cost to play in the tournament?

A: The cost as a team is $350 and you provide 12 players.  There will be 2 divisions, Upper Division or Lower Division based on skill sets. If you do not have a team then you can join as a single player and depending on player needs, may be able to join a team that is short a player or two.

Q: What are the Rules for playing?

A: The rules will be ASA Sofball Rules with some modifications and are posted in the one pitch rules section.

Q: What are the scheduled times.  

A: We start at 9:00 am with at least 4 teams and the bracket will be posted on the website and emailed to the captains of the teams and what times they play.  There will be 4 more teams starting at 10:00 am.  The games will continue each hour based on the win/loss results.

Q: What time are the singles teams playing, ie: Team Jenna and Team Christine

A: This game will start at 12:00 noon

Q: What if we do not have enough players for our team?

A: We are working on having everyone that wants to play be able to so we can provide players if your team is short.  Just show up with as many as you can and inform us during the registration part that you are short.

Q: How do I provide you the T-Shirt sizes?

A: There is a T-Shirt size form on the Softball Registration page to be filled out with the sizes.  This must be provided by the deadline, which is July 31st.  Single players will provide when they sign up.

Q: Can we bring the family, children, or dogs?

A: You can bring your whole family and young children, but Dogs are not allowed at the BYA Complex per their regulations.  Any player will need to be 18 except for the exhibition game at Noon. This game will consist of some players as young as 8 years old.  It’s a chance to get everyone out to play in the tournament.

Q: Will there be food at this event?

A: Yes the Snack Shack will be open and serving both hot and cold food along with soda and water.  No alcohol is allowed.  There will be home baked goods available as well

Q: Will there be other activities during the event other than softball?

A: Yes, we will have kids activities such as face painting and water balloon toss among other kid friendly games. We will be hosting a raffle and a 50/50 Raffle and will raffle off some of the donated items, gift certificates, and other items near the end of the day.

Q: Will there be a Home Run Derby?

A: Yes, there will be two Home Run Derby’s at Noon, Male and Female derby’s.  Sign-up will be day of event at the registration table.  The cost will be $5 to be a part of the derby and you will have 5 strikes/hits to compete with.  You can buy 5 more for $5.  The person with the most home runs in Male and Female derby’s will win a Trophy and a gift certificate to be determined Day of event.

Q: Do I need to bring my own equipment.  

A: Each player will need to bring their glove and the teams are responsible for their own Bats. We will have some available at the event if needed.  Balls will be provided by the tournament.

Q: What if I can not make the event but want to donate?

A: You can donate on the front page any amount you would like or as a sponsor on the sponsor page.  You may also donate by check made out to Jenna M Pellegrini Memorial Fund and mailed to Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts 649 John Fitch Hwy, Fitchburg, MA 01420.

Q: What if I can’t make the event but want to participate in the raffle?

A: You may enter a minimum of $10 through the website donation button and then email the items you wish to put your tickets in to info@jennapellegrini.org.  You will have 12 tickets for each 10 dollars.  The raffle items are located on the raffle items page with an item # next to each.  Just indicate the item and ticket quantity you want to put in for that item.  All items are available as part of this and you will be called if you win so no need to be present.

Q: Will you be selling tournament t-shirts at this event?

A: Yes we will be selling t-shirts at the event or you can make a request if you are unable to attend.  Email info@jennapellegrini.org with your name and request.  We will have other items for sale at the tournament and most should also be available on the website.
